【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeaddressessamplingoforganiccompounds(i.e.,PCBs,dioxins,manypesticidesandsimilarcompounds)fromsmoothnonporoussurfacesusingasolvent-wettedwipesamplingmethod.Samplesarecollectedinamannerthatpermitsthesolventextractionoftheorganiccompound(s)ofinterestfromthewipesandsubsequentdeterminationusingalaboratoryanalysistechniquesuchasgaschromatographywithasuitabledetector.Thispracticeis,however,unsuitableforthecollectionofvolatileorganiccompounds.1.2Thispracticeshouldonlybeusedtocollectsamplesforthedeterminationoforganiccompound(s)onaloadingbasis(e.g.,massperunitarea).Itcannotbeusedtocollectsamplesforthedeterminationoforganiccompoundsonaconcentrationbasis(e.g.,massperunitmass).1.3Thiswipesamplingpracticeisnotrecommendedforcollectingsamplesoforganiccompoundsfromroughorporoussurfacessuchasupholstery,carpeting,brick,roughconcrete,ceilingtiles,andbarewood.Itisalsonotintendedforthecollectionofdustsamples(seePracticeE1728)orsamplingtoestimatinghumanexposuretocontaminatedsurfaces.1.4Toensurevalidconclusionsarereached,asufficientnumberofsamplesmustbeobtainedasdirectedbyasamplingdesign(thenumberandlocationofsamplesincludingqualitycontrolsamples)andaqualityassurance/qualitycontrolplan.Thispracticedoesnotaddressthesamplingdesignsusedtoachievethedataqualityobjectives(seePracticeD5792).1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
