【摘要】:a.ThisBritishStandardspecifiesrequirementsfor'Efglas'*typecablesforaircraftwiringofcircuitsinwhichthepotentialbetweenconductors,orbetweenaconductorandmetalbraidortheaircraftstructure,doesnotexceed600volts(r.m.s.)andthefrequencydoesnotexceed1600c/sandwhereanycombinationofambienttem-peratureandconductorcurrentforcontinuousservicedoesnotproduceastabilizedconductortemperatureinexcessof260℃.Thecablesremainflexibleattemperaturesdownto-70℃.ThecablesdonotsupportcombustionbutdonotcomplywiththerequirementsofBritishStandard2G.100inrespectoffireresistance.b.Thegenericname'Efglas'isapplicableonlytocablescoveredbythisBritishStandardandcomplyingwithallitsrequirements.c.Thestandardincludesthefollowingrangesofcables:(i)Efglas.Cablewithacopperconductorandcom-positeinsulationofglassandpolytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE).*Thevariouscombinationsoftheword'Efglas'usedtodistinguishthesecableswereoriginatedbytheRoyalAircraftEstablishmentoftheMinistryofAviation.(ii)Efglasmet.SimilartotheEfglasrangebutwiththeadditionofametalbraid.(iii)Efglasmetsheath.SimilartotheEfglasmetrangebutwiththeadditionofanexternalsheathofPTFEandglassbraid.(iv)Efglaslarge.SimilartotheEfglasrangebutwithagreaterthicknessofinsulationandwithacorrespondinglygreaterresistancetoabrasion.ThesecableshavethesameoveralldiametersasthosespecifiedfortheequivalentAmericancables(inU.S.SpecificationMIL-W-7139),butareheavierthantheirEfglascounterparts.(v)DuefglasandTriefglas.Two-orthree-corecablesconsistingoftwoorthreeEfglascablesmarkedwithcolouredstripesforphaseidentificationandtwistedtogether.(vi)DuefglasmetsheathandTriefglasmetsheath.Duef-glasandTriefglascableassemblieswithanoverallmetalbraidandwithaPTFEsheathoverthebraid.d.Thecablesareclassifiedandidentified,notbycurrentratings,butbyaseriesofnumbersindicativeoftheconductorcross-sectionalarea.ThesenumberscorrespondtothoseusedforequivalentAmericancables.AnindicationoftherelationshipbetweenthissystemofidentificationandthatprovidedbyBritishStandardE.21,Electriccablesforaircraft(PrenType),isgiveninAppendixAforinformation.AguidetothecurrentratingsofEfglascablesisgiveninAppendixB.
